Is the fd 4 worth it?

I am considering a fostex fd4. I have never owned a 4 track before but I have spent most of my life running live sound. The main reason I like this unit is price and I can copy and paste within a track and not loose any quality. SOOOO I quess my question is it worth it or should I buy a tascam with auto bounce? The entire package is as follows.
fostex fd4
styquest 230
akg c1000
I can get the whole schbang for $600 US

it's a very good buy for those of us who don't have a big budget, but want to do a little bit of good quality recording. i have had no problems with mine. very easy to use. now if i could only figure out how to fit my vocals better in the mix then everything would be fine.......but that's my problem. i say go for it.

It sure sounds nice. What type of storage are you using with yours? Does it sound like cd or are there some blemishes? what is this problem with the vocals?

the sound is very cool. it is my mixing that needs help....(haha) i use a 250 meg zip drive on it so i have a good amount of space to work with.
