I use Maudio studiophile AV40s
a ux2 interface with Gearbox and PODFARM
and thats about it.... but It gets the job done.

looking to dabble with signal processing.

Most of my stuff is mobile, until I get the room and $$$ for a bigger and permanent spot.

Gateway FX series laptop (P-7915)
Tascam US-1641 USB interface
Presonus Eureka preamp/channel strip
dbx 231 EQ
TC Electronic C300 Compressor
TC Electronic M350 reverb/delay

I would love to have a good control surface for it, but right now I don't have the $$$ to let go of.

Here's how I'm hoping my setup will work, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Tascam US-428:

* 4 audio ins
* 2 MIDI ins/outs
* mixer control

M-Audio Audiophile 2496:

* 2 audio ins
* 1 MIDI in/out

Behringer BCR-2000:

* plugin control

2 MidiSport 4x4s & 1 MOTU Micro Lite:

* 13 MIDI ins/outs

The way I envision this working is, I'll have 6 simultaneous audio ins, 16 MIDI ins/outs, and total control of Reaper and all plugins - without using the mouse, and without constant excessive bank switching and what-not. That's assuming, of course, that all this stuff will play well together.

Well, I have recently procured a 100' 24x4 snake and added a bunch of mic stands to the system. I have also used the system for real time in the box front of house mixing (mixing without a mixing console). I've done this twice and it went quite well. I have another live mix job coming up on the 26th. I am able to do a live mix and record at the same time, but, so far I haven't spent the time getting the recording part set up properly so I don't know yet how the mixes will turn out. Here are some sample projects, all recorded using Reaper (expect for the stuff from 1976 and '77): Richard King's sounds on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free
