Tascam DP-32SD as an interface

A buddy has the aforementioned unit and would like to use it to record to reaper. Does anyone know if it would work? Or, would running a signal through a unit with it's own mixer just make a hash-up of the whole process?

Can not use the DP32SD as an interface, but tracks recorded in that unit can be transferred/imported into Reaper.

He's a drummer. What would be the procedure for him to record to our click track and then deliver his audio to us?

There is a section in the owners manual, 'Exchanging Data with a Computer'> 'Exporting Tracks'. Essentially move the recorded tracks (WAV files) to a computer from the DP32SD and then use whatever convenient means to get the files to you such as Cloud storage or similar. Then import those files into Reaper.
A click track (WAV file) can be imported to the DP32SD which you provide to him.

Yep, it means using the usb connection out of the DP32SD...the one that's there specifically to transfer what's on the SD card to the computer. Or remove the SD card and connect it other ways if you have a preference. I know this post is a year old, but I had $.02 to give haha.
