finding bpm video

I watched a video a while back , I'm sure it was "Kenny" playing a guitar with no drums or
metronome . The idea was to play the part at the best tempo you're comfortable with and then finding the bpm in Reaper. I don't remember what he was using but it wasn't just a matter of changing bpm and moving the waveform. I havn't been able to find this video again. Does anyone know of it , or how he was doing this .. Thanks .. mark

I don't know the video, but I know the method.

1 Play the song at a comfortable tempo and record it.
2 On the recorded track, find the start of a bar somewhere.
3 Playback the track from that point and count bars until you find a convenient place to stop.
4 Highlight this area.
5 Right click on the area selected (but not the track) and select 'create measure from time selection (new time signature)'
6 Enter the number of bars you counted and hit 'ok'.

This will put markers at beginning and end of selected track showing the tempo.
