Automatic fade in / fade out

I've accidentally turning on auto fade in / fade out when i 'split items at cursor' - i can't find out how to turn it off?!? I know it's something simple but i can't seem to find it or even know how i turned it on in the first place.

It's on by default!
On the main toolbar(if you mouse over the items)you can toggle Xfades on/off,, also in prefs under PROJECTS media item defaults, but they are there for a reason,,if you do a split without the Xfade you might hear a click on replay,but the Xfade softens that!

play around with it & you'll see the reason it's there?

You know, that makes total sense! i must have had it switched off all this time I can see how it would be useful to stop clicks & unwanted noise when you split analog tracks - looking at the curve, it cuts in / out really quick you you don't lose anything! I think i'll leave it on!! thanks for the help jiff!

And you can drag the cf curves if you want it slower (or faster).
