help please

Hi want to ask if i can record simultaneously in multitrack environment. I have a Mackie 1202 VLZ pro mixer and a Layla soundcard. I have tried to follow the diagram for patching but still cant record simultaneously in 2 different tracks. Mackie has 4 inserts. and i want to record four tracks simultaneously. I did tried two instrument but it record only to a one track. The guitar was recorded in the right channel and the voice was recorded in the left channel.. What must i do, what am i doing wrong. Anyone who has this kind of set up please lend me a helping hand.

Okay, first question: have you enabled CEP to record on all the soundcard's inputs?

In Multitrack, click on the Recording Device button for Track 1 (the little grey square between the volume reading and the record button), and then click on the Device List button in the box that comes up. Have you got a recording and playback device listed for each of the channels of your soundcard?
