I just fired up Adobe Audition, using an Echo Mia soundcard. I can monitor the playback of a recording using the original soundblaster card.

How can I hear what the input sounds like before and during the recording process?????

Check your echo mia software mixer. It should have a section called monitoring where you can adjust how much of each input you hear while recording.

When I pull up the Echo Mia Mixer, I see all the faders and two menu options at the top.

File, which has Preferences, Hide, and Exit
Preferences has no reference to monitiring.

Help has one option: About Echo Mia Console, which tells me nothing.

(shakes head in frustration)
