Doubling up vocals

I got my song complete. It is a hip hop song and I amd trying to get a doubled up effect. Any suggestions. I have tried everything. I delayed it a little and put reverb in it but it didn't quit work out.
HELP PLEASE
 
The second suggestion's where the gold is. A completely new second track gives you *loads* to work with. When you record it, though, try to nail it *dead onto* the first one - it always sounds better.
 
yeah, just record an adlib track under it... you can even record it using a different tone of voice to give emphasis..
 
also, try to make the signal chain different, and use different effects on the second recording, so that there's more of a disparity between the two.
