Is Cool Edit 2.0 Still Available?

I would like to get someone Cool Edit as a gift to help her get
started on home audio production. I don't like the products
offered by Adobe since they took over Syntrillum. Is Cool Edit
2.0 (or even first edition) available anywhere. Would really appreciate help on this one.
Thanx

What don't you like about the product? Adobe Audition is Cool Edit 2.0 with a different name?

You mean you don't like the different name they've given it?

Re: Cool Edit

Is it? I've only sampled it at their web site and it appeared
more complicated than Cool Edit. I've only used C.E. as part
of audio production at radio stations, but it struck me that
what was at the Adobe site was different. Perhaps I was
mistaken. But you're sure it's the same product? If so, it
would make me things a lot simpler for me. Please let me
know if you're sure it's really the same thing...no additional
whistles and bells.
Thanx

It doesn't matter how many words

You missed the point of my post. You won't get anywhere around here if you start recommending Kazaa or other programs that promoted illegal software sharing.

Did your post have a point?

I didn't recommend anything to anyone, it was more or less a joke.. playing off the "one word ebay" thing..

Not that I have to explain myself to you or anyone else....

You anal retentive, politically correct people crack me up....

Get a grip...

When you say "sampled it" did you just look at a screenshot or did you download the demo?

Audition is a re-packaged version of CEP 2.1 - It functions in the same way. . .As far as "bells & whistles" go, I believe they may have added a thing or two but it is still the basic CEP software...

Try the demo here:

http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/main.html

On the left side of the page click on "tryout"...Then you can play with it and decide if if meets your needs...

Hope that helps!

Thank you very much for you help. Yes, I really didn't try it out all that much, but I will use the link supplied to check it out. I really
appreciate the assistance.
Thanx again
