I use Cool Edit 2000 (not pro) and oddly, there is one compression preset that seems to nearly fit all my tunes. It's called the Real Audio Compander and has a little Trademark sign next to it (lately I've been wondering what that trademark sign is all about). Anyway, it has proven a good starting pont for me on many occasions, although I still need to tweek. Newbs may like it though. Anyone else try? Or know why it has the trademark symbol?
