Clipping

I use C.E pro 2.0 and am wondering....

Is there any way you can stop cliping in real time via the software?? i.e a level limiter.
I realise the best way is to just watch your levels, but I am sometimes recording large groups of kids, and the can just get too damn loud too quickly.

you can get a hardware compressor. but now I see in your question that you are looking for a software solution....Not to my knowledge...but I am not Dr. CEP. :p


I would just set the levels lower than you would really need and just compress it and raise the levels later.
 
There is no way for software limiters to keep you from clipping. Software happens AFTER the converters. You need a hardware compressor to keep the levels from clipping the converters. Once the converters ae clipped, it is too late do do anything about it.
