CD recording device

Hey whenever I try to create a wav file in CEP from a sound played in my CD drive, it doesn't work. I check my Windows mixer and the recording device is set to CD. So what gives?

You need to burn the file as audio...ie; wav, mp3 files need to converted to an audio file to play in most older audio cd players. Some of the newer ones will also play mp3 files. Your software; Nero, Easy CD Creator, etc should be able to convert mp3 files over to audio.

no man that's not what I mean. I mean I'm trying to create a track in CEP of sound where the source is the CD.

OK a ripper. For some reason I though that CEP would do that. Does that mean that MP3's also need to be converted to .wav before CEP will read them?

More than likely.

Unless CEP is capable of playing mp3's along side wav's.

But most likely yes, you will have to convert mp3's to wav's and CD-Audio will have to be extracted as a wav file as well.

There are a few mp3 to wav programs out there. Do a search and you should find one easy enough.
