Can't change Audio Hardware Settings in Adobe Audition CS6

Adobe Audition CS6, in the preferences/audio hardware tab.

Device Class = ASIO
Device = ASIO Digidesign Driver

When I go to the settings for the device and change the buffer size, the click OK.
The I/O buffer Size defaults back to 1024 samples.

And if I set the project sample rate, it defaults back to 41000.

Is there a way to manually change these setting?

What's your audio interface? On many of them you have to make the change (either in their own software or in the Windows audio control panel) to match or accept what you're asking for. On others, they just don support ASIO or low buffer sizes.
