using 24bit with Echo Mia and Cakewalk Pro

I am having trouble with an Echo Mia soundcard and Pro9. When I select 24 bit in the audio options menu all of a sudden my soundcard disappears out of the audio in/out menu for each track.

I have messed around, trying to make sure everything is set to 24 bit all the way but to no avail, even though both the card and the software are supposed to support it. 16 bit 96000 hz is the best I can use. Any advice?? Am I missing something major here??

Cheers,

Ben.

Can Pro Audio use ASIO? I thought not (never used it myself).

If I'm correct, it's MME only - that means you need a version of Windows that supports 24bit MME. It isn't Windows 2000 is it?

I believe you are correct, Jim, PA9 only supports MME.

However, I have used PA9 at 24 bits with a Delta 1010 and Win ME.

After you change the settings to 24 bits in Sonar, have you reprofiled the card and exited and re-entered Sonar?

Another possiblity is having another soundcard in the sytem that doesn't support 24bit. You should be able to deselect it from PA9 drivers tab.
