Percussion changes volume inappropriately

First thing I'd like to say is this is the coolest site around. I may never have to buy another manual about recording.
I have CW Home Studio 7.0 and the sound card that came with my PC.(I plan on upgrading my card soon.) I recorded MIDI percussion on track 1 then more percussion on another track but when I change the the volume with the fader for one of the percussion tracks it changes the volume on all my percussion tracks.
What can I do to avoid that? Is it a problem with my sound card?

thanks, dave

MIDI percussion is generally directed to channel 10 on your synth. When you create a new percussion track, this also shows up on channel 10 unless you've tweaked the channel definitions and made another channel trigger the synth drum sounds. So when you adjust the fader, anything on channel 10 gets the same adjustment. Since I like to maintain GM
compatibility, I use a second MIDI port to get a second drum track and leave it at that.
If you're willing to dismiss GM convention, there is a way to make any channel trigger drum sounds. Check the manual.
