newbie in need of assistance

Here is what i am working with pc wise: p3..733mhz..256mgram..20g/hd
Soundcard: SBL
Software programs in use:Cakewalk PA9..SoundForge5.0...FruityLoops3.0

Problem I am facing: I am running my SBL output to a basic home stereo with the eq running flat(going to purchase an amp when the income gets better), I am using sound forge to rip my Audio from my Cd..when i play my music that has just been ripped I get a hollow sound(like a concert room effect), but i haven't touched any plug-ins. What do I need to do to correct this problem???

I think the SB Liveware loads up with the Environmental Audio enabled and set to some reverb setting. Turn it off if so. Look at the Environmental Audio controls from the SB Live AudioHQ utility.
