In working with Cakewalk and several other combined MIDI/audio sequencers, I find the big problem is to get MIDI files to wav so they can be mixed down to a final .wav file that can be put on CD for mastering.

Anyone know of a quick, easy way to do this? A utility? A technique?

Double click the speaker icon in your system tray.
open the 'options' menu, choose properties
    select 'recording' and click 'ok'.

next, click/select the check box under the 'midi' fader.

in cakewalk, archive all but your MIDI tracks and create an additional audio track to record the MIDI to. REWIND to the beginning, ARM the audio track, and click RECORD. The sound from the MIDI tracks will be recorded to the additional audio track you created.

    Hope this helps.
