looping drum samples

Hello,
I have Sonar 2.2. I also have Acid 4 and Sound Forge 6.
What I want to do is take a drum sample and loop it. Given that I have those three programs how would you recommend I go about doing it? Ultimately, I need to use the looped drum sample in Sonar. I tried doing it in Acid and exporting it to Sonar but the clip sounded different and weird. Any ideas?

yeah, so the way I'm doing it now is I'm putting the drum clip in Sound Forge, trimming and editing it until it loops, saving it as a wav, then importing it into sonar and changing the tempo to whatever it needs to be and im good to go.
If there is a better way to do it let me know. thanks.
