Guitar Tracks 2 - importing tracks from 8-track recorder

To use Guitar Tracks for mixing down imported tracks from an outside digital recorder, is this a fairly simple procedure? I've not messed around that much with GT2 but I am familiar with it. Would I just have my recorder's output going to the soundcard, then arm a track in GT2 to capture that track? Or, would it be better to transfer it via USB cable? If I go that route, how do I get the .wav file to a particular track in GT2?

if GT2 supports multiple input soundcards and the outside digital recorder has an out for each of the tracks you could use a multiple input sound card in your pc (pci) to effect the transfer of for example all 8 tracks at once. more details on your pc would help and your digital recorder.

I've done a similar thing from a Portastudio.

I imported 2 tracks at a time, and then just manually synced them in Guitar Tracks
