i just realised that my gina is 20bit
and i been recording in cakewalk at 16bit all along
what's difference will it make if i change setting in cake to 24bit?
i always susspect my past recording ain't up to par of what gina has to offer
other thing is when i change to 24bit
this will have more effect on dropout?
thnx

Don't know about the Gina, but, before I got the Gadget824, I set my TB Pinnacle, also 20bit, to 24bit in cakewalk. It accepted it and allowed use of 20bit instead of 16bit. It made a big difference in quality. Before I got PA9, I was limited to 16bit with software. Try it ! I think you'll be pleased.
Dropouts will depend on your system's muscle.

Alas, our Gina's don't do the 24 bit thing..
:(
They're coming out with a 24 bit version soon, though. :)
Inside Vegas Pro there are no selections for bit resolution that aren't supported by the Gina. If there is such a choice in CW I'd suspect that's like the speakers in the doors of my new truck. When I went to install a stereo system, I found them to be a picture of a speaker on a piece of cardboard!
Are you getting dropouts while recording with your Gina?

thnx i had tried cake24bit
and to be honest i can't hear much of difference
comparing to samplitudeSEKD ,cubase or logic
the waves in them are so deep ,the hi is clearer and lowend is so deep you can almost hear the floor shakes!
but the tradeoff is that they're all so difficult to use
i had a hard time trying to record with them
so bynow i just record midi into wave in cake then export
each track to wave and mix them in sekd
BTW my comp is still MMX 166 i think sometime the dropout comes from this fact
guess i have to buy P3 soon
thnx again
