does anyone here use SoundFonts??

i just hooked up my midi keyboard to my soundblaster live card and i am using it with Cakewalk 9. so far it works really good. after a while....the MIDI would stop working! has anyone ever encountered this problem?

yes,
I TRY to make rap beats, but I always have problems trying to find quality soundfonts to use- especially for hip hop drums....
someitmes when midi messes up (I use Pro Audio 9 and SoundBlaster Live)
I reset the computer or press the panic button which resets all the midi stuff..

How much RAM do you have on the SB card? When you load up those SF files they eat up a lot of it and can in fact jam up the works. The trick is not to upload any more than you need. One idea anyway--could be something else and I'm not a midi whiz. But that was my experience with the SF Awe 64 gold using SFs. I wasn't ready to spend what SB wanted for additional ram. I found some SFs--especially bass--that far exceeded the standard midi patches that come with the SF card. Also very good drum fonts. I didn't bookmark them but if you search I'm sure you'll find them.

Try this site out. They have a ton of soundfonts on there. I found a few lemons, but most that I downloaded were good and few were execellent.
