The tap method is easy enough. You click on the number representing beats per minute, then click on the place in the next window which says, "tap here for tempo". The extraction from a .wav file is a bit spotty.
It involves a conversion between audio and a MIDI click track that needs to be tweaked to work right. From within the audio view of the track you want to use, right click and select "extract timing". Play with the parameters. Good luck and have fun.
