Cant Get Levels

I am using cakewalk 9.0 with pv studio mix and the creative soundblaster live. The soundcard out from my studio mix is going to Mic in on the soundcard. I select WaveIn for the source and I can't get levels. Am I connected correctly to my soundcard or should I use the digital in? All help and comments are appreciated.

Any line level signal should be connected to the line-in input on the sound card. Don't use the mic-in. If you have an S/PDIF out from your mixer, then use the digital-in on the card for better sound quality. That should do it. Be sure to turn on the appropriate channel on both the play & record mixers for the SBLive. Also, don't forget to arm your track(s) or you won't get any input. Good luck.
