I bought this for Cakewalking
Can I make REAL sounding recordings or not?
My stuff doesn't sound "real". Do these software plugins really work? Which ones do I use and where to get them? Is software compression adequate?
What level to compress vocals? Am I supposed to compress the whole mix before CDR?
What about "finalizing"? PLugins for that?
I want to sound professional!!
Can I achieve good vocals with a sm58? or do I get the beta 58? I have a nice big mixer that came on a "professional" AKAI multitrack with full logic, about 12 years old I think. Do the $100 preamps sound better or won't it make a difference uuless I buy a fancy condenser mic?
