Aux Send Level?

I've created a volume envelope on an Aux send. It's going thru a delay/flange type of effect that's got quite a long tail.

Is there any way to silence the tail after the track has stopped sending? I've pulled the send envelope to -inf and also put a track envelope on it at -inf, but the tail still plays out
 
You need to automate the effects return. Turning off the send will just keep more stuff from going to the effect.
