Any better program than Cakewalk to mix and master?

I use Cakewalk PA 9.0 to track and mix, but I remember some people before saying that PA was no good to mix and master.

Can anyone offer some suggestions of better programs to use for mixing and mastering?

Thanks,

If you already own PA9, upgrade to Sonar. It is a much more powerfull piece of software (especially for digital audio).

I suppose you could master in cakewalk but either Soundforge or Wavelab would be better where you can have a chain of plugins. Personally I prefer Soundforge.

Oh - I agree about Sonar being better to mix in.

what's plugin chaining?

i love mixing in cakewalk now that i have the waves c4 and l1. now i can do multi-comp and peak limiting on the mix channel right in cakewalk.

i still use sekd's redroaster to put my mixed tracks together and burn cd's.

sonar allows you to put multiple plugins on a track, insert, or mix channel. is soundforge different? what do you mean by plugin chaining?
