    Hi,
I have two questions, both related to my ADAT XT. Thanks for any help you can offer.
    1. How do I bypass or completely replace the A/D converters on the XT? If I could replace the ones in the machine with a completely new (and better) set I'd be happy. If I can't do that I'd like to bypass them and use something better.

    2. Is it possible to synch a Tascam 38 reel to reel with my XT? Would a SMPTE generator do this? If not, what would?

    Thanks Again,
    A.K.

    Wink

Additional info. I think I've answered at least part of my questions.
    1. Most likely the A/D converters inside the machine cannot be replaced but I could use a seperate A/D converter (like an Apogee) and connect it to the ADAT using the lightpipe or SPDIF connection. Is that about right?

    2. Since the 38 has no connection that would allow external signals to control the transport mechanisms, there is no way to synch the machine, SMPTE or no SMPTE.
