cassette into Akai

A friend of mine's band recorded an album in the eighties, and he wants to put it onto CD because the cassette tapes are getting old. No one has the master tapes, don't you love that ?

Is there a way to go from cassette into my Akai DPS16 and then to the CD burner ? My Akai has a SPDIF in, but no RCA connectors in. My cassette has RCA connections only.

If I use a dual 1/4" phone to dual RCA cable can I record into two channels on the Akai ? I'm not concerned about sound quality and hiss but I just don't want to screw up my recorder by doing something stupid.

i use a couple of cables with RCA on one end an 1/4" on the other frequently. They will work perfect for going from the tape deck to the Akai. You should not have any problems with this at all.;)
