okay okay okay...i might be a little dense, but can somebody answer me a question?

if i want to record a track WITH internal efx applied, and then want to turn off the effect and free up the efx space to use elsewhere in the mix, how do i do it?

do i just INSERT the effect while recording? i have done this, but then if i turn off the effect, it goes away. how do i make it permanent without leaving it on?

you have to record with the effect on the input(s). It sounds like you had the effect on the track. Don't worry, I did the same thing and it took me an hour to get it right

You have to insert the effect(s) if you want to record with them because if you used an aux you would confuse the recorder
