anyone know anygood vst plugin/instruments for microphones?
basically i want a vst plugin that simulates different microphones.

?

It doesnt work that way.

Actually, Antares came out with a 'microphone modeler' several years ago.
As you can tell by it not being widely used, it really didnt work....

hahhahah
i was to understand there were vst plug ins that simulate various types of microphones.
OF COURSE, u cant expect to use a 10 dollar mic and get the same quality as a thousand dollar mic
in the same way amp simulators dont replace real amps, though having an amp simulator plug in opens up worlds of possibilities (which i have recently discovered.
and ssjjohnston, if your insinuating that i can't sing
...i'd challenge u to a karaoke off any day of the week
u can even choose the song (no journey please)
; )

Yeah the Antares one is the only one Ive heard off...they just reissued it so they must reckon there is a market for it

I have some fairly decent preamps for my "budget" mics but nearly always end up using Pod Farm...the VST mic preamps/effects in it just sound great to me

as for budget mics try Prodipe..I have a $30 dynamic from them thats excellent (honestly)...they have cheaper end ribbon and condenser mics so you could get a small mic locker together for less $$ than some crappy software
