Windscreens

Just received delivery on a v67g which I plan to use as a vocal mic. After reading the warning notice "All condenser microphones are very sensitive to moisture...use a windscreen or pop filter...", and this being my first LD mic, how much should I worry about this? I'd like it to last at least a week.

The warning is somewhat perplexing given that the mic doesn't come with a screen.

Spit and condensor diaphragms don't mix - always use a pop filter for close-micing vocals. Also stops the plosives to some degree, which is good. If you're on the cheap (like most of us), you can make one to start out with. An old pair of pantyhose, stretched over a loop of stiff wire - cost to you, free! (If you or someone you know has the stuff lying around).

Yea spit and mic's don't mix great, but chances are you'll need the windscreen regardless to keep plosives down.

They arn't expensive comparativly though I mean if you dropped the cash on a condeser already. Also with dropping the money on the condenser you want to take as proper care as possible of it.

And no it wouldn't come with a windscreen, kind of the same thing as not coming with a stand.
