Slowing becoming un-noob.
I was watching some videos of Albert Hammond Jr.'s solo album band play and he had this keyboard where he blew through a tube to play it. Very small.

It's in that video, you'll see it being used a couple times here and there...

Now can anyone tell me what it is and where I could maybe get a hold of one?

Thanks!

Where would you get tubing? At a hardware store or surgical supply store. :D :D

That instrument is called the Melodica. Usually you just blow into the mouthpiece, but he simply attached a tube to the piece.

Melodica

I've seen bigger versions than the one pictured there in Wikopedia, as well. I love the sound of Melodica's, sort of harmonica-ish.

My mom had a 49 key "air" powered organ when I was a kis (2 yrs old) in 1976. It had a fan in it not a reed to blow into. And it had a harmonica-ish type of sound.

That is what I cut my teeth on so to speak of. She got it to teach me numbers like you teach most kids how to read and count. music had a numbers on the notes and she was trying to teach me numbers by playing the notes - anyway, i thought it was the coolest thing. when you turned it on and the motor(fan) spooled up, it sounded like a jet engine at idle ( in know, i'm a aircraft mechanic)
