im looking at purchasing a mic or two to start recording my guitar tracks via micing a cab...i used to just go direct using a pod or a gt6 or whatever else i have laying around... but im starting to notice that most miced tones i hear just seem a little more up my
alley...

mostly im talking bout some pretty heavy distortion sounds im not sure if that helps..... i own 1 sm57 which ive been using to kinda test out tones from the amps i have here (a peavey classic half stack and a marshall combo both bought very cheapley used from friends who no longer play) .. the sm57 seems to be working okay , any problems im running into im sure is with technique but im experimenting alot with that and im sure ill figure that out..... im not sure if thats like the way to go or if i should invest in something better to mic it up with.. my budget is up to id say 800 bucks for a better setup mics or whatever else you guys suggest....

other mics i own are a marshal v77 and a sm58'....

btw i tryed the search function but my computer just wasnt loading it so im sorry if this has been posted a thousand (which im sure it has)
thanks alot
gary...
