This is a kinda strange one. Let me know what you think about anything, artistic comments mix comments, whatever. I'm open to any suggestions...be mean, I like it.

What about the lyrics? This is my first post on the clinic (of my music). I'll likely be re-recording it sometime soon so chime in and make a difference. Thanks!!:D

Well damn, I'm trying but I like it...:)

Very cool rhythm section on this one. I'm not usually wild about "electronic" stuff but this was done really tastefully. The bass sound is really nice. Very clear and precise. For some reason reminded me of early Cure stuff a little. Kind of hypnotic and ominous. The only complaint I have is I'd like to hear the vocals up front a bit more. They're pretty hard to make out in parts.

sorry, that's as mean as I can be right now,
Chris

I couldn't hear the vocals well enough to understand the lyrics. But the song is cool! What did you use for the drums and bass?

Pop/rock/Electronic? i don't know what it tis but i know what I like. Enquiring minds want to know, what are you using for drums? The vocal is setting just a little too deep in the mix. What ever it is, it's good.

Cool tune-Sounds good--I like the swelling keys in the background-kind of dissonant but it works well.....I agree with the others that the vox could come up-i could only pick up a few words here and there. The bass cut through nicely--is that just a straight bass sound or did you eq it to fit that way?(I'd like to get my basses to cut through like that).....I like the tension in this song-it almost made me feel uneasy-I could imagine someone on a bad trip hearing this might just lose it for good . Well done....

the vocals were waaaaay too low so I couldnt make out any of the lyrics.. I like some of the sounds used and there is a nice stereo spread.. the bass sound is good too..

Thanx guys,
no time now but I willwork on getting the vox louder and repost this afternoon. Glad everyone liked it.

The bass is my Peavey paladium through a friend's SWR amp recorded with a sennheiser 421 about 6 feet away no EQ. The drums are a loop of me playing on my hybrid electronic acc. kit and a bubbly synth loop with an 808 kick to accent the heavier partand obviously a couple shaker trax. Did anyone listen on 'phones? The shakers do a weird stereo thing.

Thanx again, I'll fix that and let ya know when it's done.

heh, i really like this.

i guess alternative/electronica or something like that....

i think it is very cool though.

this is a groovy tune man... I agree that the vox are a little too low.. I couldn't make anything out except "this is my new years resolution"... everything else was a blur... :p There was a bit too much panning going on too.

I also liked the drum programming... (can ya believe it!? :p) I thought it fit the song very well.

You dope smoking freak!:D

This is some pretty inventive shit man.Sounds like african/hawaiian-trip/hop-acid induced alternative.

Seriously,I dont know what genre of music this is but it works.Maybe you've invented some new genre.

Headphones is definetly the way to go when listening to this tune.I listened on computer speakers last night and didnt get the full effect of the tune....some nice stuff going on in the stereo playground.

Nice clean recording man.

clean recording for sure. Sounds like a Soundforge Acid project, to some degree. The vocal track is ??? are you supposed to hear the lyrics? I listened on phones too... Nice rhythms...went on for awhile...but they sounded good.

jeez, its not quite " waiting for darkness to slowly unfold" but...
cool stuff and layering

Listened again and I think this might be close to some of the shit MOBY does.

Yeah jeez, I just got home. I'll re-mix the vox and stuff and post in an hour or so.

Thanx for listening everyone!!

Interesting sound you have here! Makes for an interesting tune. I guess it is kind of electronic pop sorta ... :)

I couldn't make out a word so that would be my only feedback to raise the vox...

Interesting rhythm...did you use samples to get this? (I haven't read any of the comments, so you may have already answered this)...

Pretty cool vibe here ... :)

Well here's the updated version. It's actually a complete remix.

Let me know how I did on the "mastering", it took 25 min and I've got a blown tweeter, haha.

No, I didn't use a sampler, the bubbly is a sequence locked on my MS2000 and a live played drum loop cut in. It's not a drum machine really, but a tone module triggered off a SPD6 pad and real cymbal set played and cut in about a five measure section. The kick that comes in halfway is a stock yamaha fake 808.

It's dinnertime so I'll be back later if anyone is up.

C'mon Pipeline give me some shit...please.

Oh, and I should eventually mention that the bassline was played by SS454.

Is the update the original link? I still can't distinguish the vocals in some parts... Could we see the lyrics?

Stoner funk fo sho!;)

shit! sounds clean and professional and smooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooottttthhhhh, nothing like one of my mixes :)

good bass tone and good job mixing the bass into it
now go play Gloom ( http://www.planetgloom.com/ ) loser
