What do I have to do to...

... get a really deep bass (think hip-hop). The way I am understanding it now is that some of it would depend on the preamp?

Any ideas?

1.Run an oscillator to one of the channels on your mixer.
2.Set the oscillator to 40Hz.
3. Put a gate on the oscillator channel, then key the gate with whatever channel the kick is on.

4. Then blend the two to your liking.

and chessrock, I've never heard of maxx bass, gonna go check that out.
