What BLUE mics do you like?

Of the 3 I've heard, the Dragonfly takes the honors for me... Funny, it's the cheapest one too!

Thats cool.......BLUE has this appeal to me that I can't explain. I keep hearing that they are not the most well suited mics for acoustic or vocals though. They are more for electric guitar and such. Any thoughts on that?

Free! Free Blue Mics are the best for any application. Just my .02 dinari

I don't have experience with different models of BLUE microphones, but I have had good experience with the Dragonfly on a male vocal.

I would like to go to Guitar Center and buy a TLM103 and a Dragonfly and then return one, but I am unofficially banned from returning non-defective (if it didn't blow up, its not broke) murchandise. I guess I should have had better excusses with that EMU MP7.....it was only rented 3 times in 3 months......

Actually, the Baby Bottle is cheaper than the Dragonfly.

What I like about BLUEs is they have their own unique sound.

No, my rooms not treated. I was going to get some of that pyramid foam stuff, but I have to make it so I can remove at will and store somewhere. I should just go down the steet and get some cheep rugs, but.......rugs are no fun......SHAG CARPET!!!!!!!!!! Booya. Thats what I need. Is that stuff cheep? ..or, does it even work. Hmmmm.........I don't know if it would even look that good on the walls.........maybe just the floor.....but.......

I've got a Baby Bottle...Cool on Elec. guits{where I like this mic best}..On acoustic guits, pretty good on the end pin in a two mic configuration.I've used it once with a vocalist that was extreamly silibant and it worked very well!Reminds me of a ribbon with a little lift on the upper mids..Cool mic..I'v never tried any of the other Blue mics

Maybe it's too late in your particular case, but I've found it pays to be honest up front about what you are doing. If you tell any dealer that you fully intend to buy one or two or three models that you would like to compare in your own studio, they usually can work out a way for you to do it - either with an outright loan (more likely with an independent dealer) or in the case of a chain store with a more rigid policy, buying all and returning the ones you don't want.

I've never failed to be able to audition gear this way. Of course, maybe it's my natural charm... :D

I've had very good experiences with the baby bottle on acoustic guitar, although I do not currently use one. I'm using KIWI for a main vocal mic, and it is one kickass mic. I dream of owning that Cactus C7 has got. I auditioned Dragonfly and loved it as a cardioid mic, but opted for KIWI for its multipattern versatility. The whole line is very impressive.-Richie
