What is the deal with WDM drivers for WinME? Can you use the Win2k WDM drivers in Windows ME?

Are WDM drivers all that?

Well. You I think win ME supports WDM drivers but I wouldnt go installing the Win 2k drivers just yet as I am not sure if win ME supports them. I would check the M-Audio website as it has more information.

www.m-audio.com

I read that there were suppose to be WDM drivers out for WinMe but apparently not for the Delta 1010.

There are no WDM drivers for WinME at M-Audio.

Would these drivers allow you to use more DirectX effects in your mix than the current drivers? Or are they just for the soft synths and real time FX for Sonar?

WDM drivers are simply more efficient. XP relies on them almost totally.

They can bring soundcard latency down significantly and make the use of software synths etc more effective. Plugins though are more a question of PC power.

KaosTheory,

I don't know why M-Audio has their main drivers page set up like they do by not listing WDM drivers under WinME, but they do have them... I had the same problem when looking for them for my Delta66...

On the main driver page, click the link at the top that says something like driver archive... the site is down right now because it says they are updating, so I can't go and check exactly what it is...

anyways go to the driver archive and to the Delta section and under WDM under delta there will be a WDM driver that is for WinME and Win2k... don't use the one thats only for win2k with winme but the one for winme and win2k works great...

good luck...
