Hey you all! I recently set up my system with Gadgetlabs 8-24 and Cool Edit Pro SE and I thought I was on the road but when I hit 'record" after assigning all the tracks I got the message "can't open specified wave devices for playing/recording". Then it would record on some tracks but not all eight. I called Gadgetlabs but they never heard of anything like this. Figures. Now I am trying to record with N-tracks and my question is Can you record eight tracks at one time? It seems to me that I can only record four since I can only assign Track 1 to wave ch 1/2, Track 2 to wave ch 3/4 etc...etc...Is there a way to specify right channel and left channel? Please help me since I'm dying to get my shit down but all I've been doing for the last two months is play with my comp. Thanks alot in advance!

yes you can. to record to track one, you want to pick input 1/2-left, and for track two yuo will pick input 1/2-right, track three input 3/4-left...you get the picture. to do this properly you need to do the following: click setting on the "Recoring VU Meter" for the apropiate input. choose "stereo > two mono tracks"..now press the middle button where is says rec>..from here you can choose either the right or left channel. good luck.
