As our band's recording opportunities are extremely limited, we are forced to use the chances we have - a small microphone and a poor guitar. So that's that. The problem is that the vocals sound like the radio. And when higher keys are sang there's too much treble.
Recorded yesterday.

Here's a proper sample recorded a year ago with the same mic. http://www.zone.ee/leegitsevsidrun/ - the second file from the list.

Isn't it odd that the sound has changed within a year? I need help on that.

It just sounds like it's clipping to me - maybe the vocal mics are going into the red? It only seems to happen on the louder notes.

Could even be clipping on the mic itself - switch on the -10dB damper if it has one.

That's all that comes to my mind!

Hm? Sound could be different because of many things like sound card,
audio player, speakers, software, equaliser …
I don’t think that file has changed itself. But I could be wrong as well.

I am curious to see what the experts have to say.
Have a nice day!

Two different recordings yeah? Sooo many posibile things could change it. Maybe the mic is bust or is dirty. Maybe you use different room or different technique of mic placement. If it sounds like radio i think it could be too much mid freq.

It is correct that the room and the pc is different. But the programme and the parameters aren't. To be exact, the good recording was recorded with a shittier pc and soundcard than the bad one. I dunno, maybe some plug-ins might help. I'll try some of these over here http://www.voxengo.com/downloads/#VoxengoEssEQVST .

Thanks for your help so far.
