Vocal Effects

I am curious about vocal effects I can use to make my voice sit better in the mix with my electronic beats. When I play back my vocals, the tone is simply not matching with the music.

Are there some obvious vocal effect plugins that are common, besides autotune? I am thinking on the lines Lady Gaga`s vocal effects. I know she has something more going on than just reverb, eq, and a compressor.

Any effect names you can give me would be awesome. Thanks.

Can you describe this problem more?

You mentioned compression, EQ, and reverb. These are the main tools used really, if you can't get a vocal to sit well in a mix using these things alone, you should look at your performance/arrangement.

Autotune is a correctional tool to be avoided if possible, aka, sing it again but in tune this time.

It'd be a good idea for you to post an example mix of yours in the MP3 mixing forum, people will help you to identify issues.
