v72 modification

Hi I'm getting 2 v72 tab/telefunken (abby road) preamps soon ,these are not modifeyed units in a great working condition and as soon as I will get conecctor for them I'll b able to use them as they are ,meaning with fixed 34db gain.
I know there are few known modifications for v72 from all of them I'm only intrested in this that give a switchable gain up to 55db, does anyone has a schemes showing the modifiction? is it hard to do alone? profesional will be happy to do it for me for 1000$ which is far more than the 2 units cost me together...

same here - I own two V72's.
there are already set-up and running (sweeet, BTW...)

I already profoundly searched rec.audio.pro but couldn't find anything on this variable gain mod.

any input is warmly welcome.
