I want to begin recording vocals using my computer (I'm already using Cakewalk to record guitar).
So I read the microphone faq. I understand that I'll need to buy a
impedence matching transformer (Radio Shack #274-016). My question is, will that also provide the phantom power? Do ALL good microphones require phantom power or just condenser microphones? (I'm guessing all because I remember being zapped by the microphones my band used to use, but I'm not sure).
In general what kind of a setup would people recommend for recording vocals to computer on a budget?
