I aint even gonna try and critique your stuff dude.It's too good as always.This is a heavy hitting song.Im sure somebody with better ears for mix problems like mixmkr/sam/tom/Track Rat/etc.... will come along and help you out in that dept.LOL...all I can say is that this songs kicks butt!

Excellent vocals and guitars.Nice job on the lead stuff Tom.Those rhythm guitars sound like a Marshall Stack sitting in front of me.They sound really big........you did an excellent job of putting this together dude.I dont see how you guys get these complex songs down so easily recording at home by yourself.LOL.....I guess programming plays a little part in it.....this just rocks guernica.

Sounds great. I'm a mix noob so I'll leave that to the pros.

Vocals sound really good, as does the guitar. The lead was very good.

You know, besides being just a helluva' guy Mike, you've got my vote for 'most diverse musician' on this BBS. Back when I had all my fingers working and I used to record stuff, it all sounded pretty much the same...I have yet to hear 2 tunes of yours that sound the same.

When it started, I thought I was listening to a samij tune... you're getting some cool sounds and textures out of whatever keyboard/synth you're using.

All the lead work rules...it fits. I can't play that fast, lol. It seems like it gets a little loose @2:15, but it may just be that Tom's playing so damned fast I can't follow it.

Fuck, the vocals are excellent.

Okay, there's only one area that I'm a little negative about after the 4th listen, but it's something I noticed on the first - There seems to be too much space between the rhythm gits and the lead...the lead tone is right in your face, but the rhythm tracks sound like they were recorded in a big room (verb issue? recording?). I think the lead tone is perfect, and I'm just wanting the guitars to be more up front...NOT in volume, but in terms of placement. BTW - this is an incredibly minor nitpick that I never would have even mentioned on 99% of the tunes I've heard in here; I had to work pretty hard to find something that bugged me a little.

IN SUMMARY: YOU (ya'll) ROCK. :D

[edit] - After hitting the "bass boost," I'll comment that it's got more LOW lows than most commercial mixes, which is not necessarily a negative thing...just something worth noting if you're gonna' turn it up to 12 with a kicker box.

The guitar issue you brought up is the primary reason i fear doing "big guit." songs. Youre right about the difference between Toms guits and mine......HUGE! I cannot get my guits to "stand" up front like that. ...believe me ive tried everything. ....I cant get the J-station to sound big enough....... I added that verb (with as short a tail as i could get)to try and give the guits some size and width.... by doing so though i got that room sound youre hearing.......I dunno. I need some new toys (amp) ......are you hearing a quick fix for this mix-wise with regards to that? ....If so lemme at it. Great, spot-on, observation man....thanks

Cock Rock, huh? I think of hair bands when I think of that phrase, and this doesn't really remind me of that because it is deeper, so I guess I would call it "deeper than cock rock" or something :)

Anyway, very nice job on this! I like how the tune changes at the 3:20 or so mark. Very good songwriting on this! Great vocals and Sluice's playing lends itself very well to this tune! And then a false ending to boot...

Jamal-sometimes im not sure if having all of those options at your disposal (triton) is a good thing. This was another write as you record song.....and when i do that, i think i have a tendancy to PILE IT ON:D :D . Im doing another acoustic tune next...... prewritten, and fully complete in my mind. I think those circumstances will make a much better use of the tritons tools.

jcmm-thanks j. Im recording with a tascam 788 8 track right now. I'll never dis it 'cause its a GREAT, trustworthy little recorder. ......but ive wayyy outgrown it. I do alot of bouncing. way too much. Ive got probably 30-35 tracks bounced into various combinations in this, and it really makes you do alot of guesswork when putting together a mix. I hope to get a solid/dedicated audio 'puter, and.......either sonar or cubase by the end of the year. .....thanks for listening bro:)
