For a newbie in AUDIO / PC recording this might be of interest.
They were selling these The HIT KIT for $7.99 at Barnes Noble Bookstore clearance, so I picked one up. Wish I'd picked up a few of them.
Comes with a plastic kareoke type mic, recording software cd with audio/midi tracking, and a kareoke cd and a basics of Home Recording Book by Steve Levine.
It was quite easy to load up on the pc. plugged a mic in the soundcard and it was pretty straight forward.
For example, within an hour 4 tracks of messaging babbling was recorded and saved to my harddrive.
The book on Home recording is probably worth the $7.99.
I'm not sure how many tracks but it shows to be 24bit resolution, and appears you can keep adding Audio Tracks? I was over 14 Tracks and there didn't seem to be an issue to add more.
Some delay from mic to recorder (latency), but this is my old pc most likely, hardware. I'm a total newbie on this pc recording.
My 2 cents on pc software, which is minimal to zero exp., but alot seems to be personal preference of the screen layout form the few I've tried. Some is laid out to ones own taste. This one is pretty simple which I liked.
Amazing Recording package for $7.99 when compared to the abilitys of my Tascam144 4-track cassette recorder in 1979...for $1200!
