telecaster wiring question

can I wire a tele like a les paul with two volume and tone pots. I have schematics for both. Can I just follow the LP diagrams and substitute the 500k ohm pots with 250k ohm pots?

Sure... go with the 500k pots if your going to use high output humbuckers. Stay with the 250k if you use lower output single coils.
