David You're right there is something off with the vocal volume. I kept thinking they were way too loud, so I kept turning them down bit by bit. I was pretty deaf by the time I mixed this, listening fatique takes another toll. Thanks for checking it out!
Thanks
Sluice. I wanted the ending to be a bit erratic sounding. Not quite this time challanged, but odd. I hope when I remix it I can improve this.
Appreciate the listen
Gidge.
Track Rat - Thanks for comments. The fade is lame, agreed!
mixmkr- Hat dance? I just did a quick internet search to find what you meant. ???

Either case, thanks for listen.
powderfinger - The piano is
an Alesis Nanopiano. All the sounds on this recording are from it. Versatile POS! heh

Thanks man.
Appreciate the listen
Slackmaster2K. The 'guitar' is a patch on the nanopiano. Not sure what it's supposed to be, but rotating through the dial I liked it. Listening to this now, in the cold light of day I hear what you mean. I was fried by the time I tryed mixing this (excuses). It is a bit messed volume wise, louder is better though right?

I'll fix it in the mix next time I work on it. It is overbearing for sure. Thanks again.
A1A2: Thanks A1A2. I never thought of this as a different style than my norm, well maybe I did. I try to play different styles, even when it doesn't quite hit the mark. So many little bits in this song that should be so easy to play, for some reason - are not.
Hi
chrisharris. The thought has crossed my mind to put all these bits onto a CD. If I can crank out another 6 I may just do that. The reason I'm recording and writing this stuff fast is because I learned that if I let stuff sit too long, get too complicated or If I get too picky I'll never finish anything. So it's an experiment. Interesting you mention 'concept' album. The concept here is not the album, but the way I'm trying to record and write. Sort of a reverse unplugged album if that makes any sense. Thanks for the feedback. Someone hates me? Cool!
Hey
B.SABBATH. Yeah I hear what you guys are saying now, today. It is screwed in the level department. Some of the dynamics are there but there are spots that need some work, no question. Supertramp, one of my fav's. Thanks for the comments.
Guernica I don't think I'll add any guitar to this one. The only changes I think I'll make are to retrack the intro piano (maybe the outro). The intro timing just makes me cringe too much. Thanks for listening.
participant: Which pitch shifting do you mean? I do some pitch shifting on the controller keyboard, but then there is a weird, unintentional pitch shift right be for the vocal starts. I don't know what happened there. I was trying to edit that out of time intro piano so it would fade in, but then there was a big gap between it and the start, couldn't figure out how to crossfade the two parts. Rambling. No MIDI on this. All parts are played realtime, line outs, line ins. Glad you like it participant, thanks!
Dobro - No definetly not top 10, or even top 100 on the popularity side. Can't dance to it, well you could at the end maybe...

Anyway, thanks for the support / encouragement, I'm gonna carry on trying to finish 10 and mix / master burn on a CD and shelf it. Vocal levels are all over the place as usual.
jcmm: Thanks, see ya there!
Thanks
NickHall.
"Love the distorted piano sound at 1:30 (if thats what it is....) you know what it reminds me of?.. a 'disconnected' tone when you leave a phone off the hook....how bizarre is that?... "
That is bizarre, never occured to me, but you're right it does sound a bit like that!
No Quantizing involved, I played it outright. I can't do MIDI, I find it too time consuming to edit stuff like that. I know some people like it and do amazing things with it, just never got into it. It's the timing at the start that bugs me most, the end can be ecletric. Drives me crazy how something as simple as 4 beats to the bar during that intro, I just can't do it for some reason. I drift all over. But, such is life.
The missing sundays were never recorded.
Thanks again Nick.
