Studio applications for SM58?

I have an SM58 which I've only ever used for live work - wondering what use it has in a studio environment? Anyone have any tips?

My other mics are SM57 which I use for electric guitar thru amp, Rode NT5s & NT2. I record only instruments (no vocals) and don't use drums either (except for trusty Boss Dr Rhythm) - mainly guitars of various types and styles.

Is there a use for this thing in the context of what I'm doing, or should I leave it in the drawer?

Basically,
You could use the 58 anywhere you could use the 57.
If you needed to mic 2 cabinets at once or if you wanted to close mic a amp with one and far mic it with the other, that would work well.
Some people swear by the 58 for rap vocals ...
Definitely no reason to bury it.

Been thinking of adding a bit of harmonica, although I can barely play the damn things - will give it a try!

And if I ever decide to become a rap vocalist, I'll know I have the weapon of choice!
