Hey, folks. I've glanced back through this forum, and I've not seen my question asked, so I figure it's probably pretty stupid. I just registered my copy of n-Track, and when I record, I can't figure out how to set the noise filter... Basically, in Pristine Sounds, there is a function called "Generic Noise Suppression" which acts more or less as a gate you can slap on after recording a track, file, what have you... Is there no feature for this on n-Track? No free Plug-In? Sure there MUST be a way to trim the noise below a certain threshold...

Hey Abbigoose:

There are a couple of companies that make good compressors & limiters that you can use for free. The best I have found is Blueline. I can't remember the link to it, but if you type in the words "Blueline Effects" on a search engine like Metacrawler or Yahoo, you'll find them.
They work great for me & my N-Track.
Also: Here's a link to the best Reverb I've found for free.

Enjoy!

Abbigoose:do a search for VST plugins (which n-track supports as well as direct-x )There are scads of free plugs out there. The cubase webring has a bunch.

Hello,

Maybe I'm missing the point. Are you trying to clean up a track after recording? I use my wav editor to do this. I thought most wav editors have noise reduction of some sort?
