Hey guys i'm going to make a tiny recording setup at home.
I was thinking of getting the presonus 1box and an m-audio midi keyboard.

and i am thinking of getting the new macbook pro 13 (i7 or i5). is the 13" good enough for recording? i was going to upgrade my RAM. or do i just go for the 15"?
I am on a budget so whatever will do the job nicely with the least amount of problems and lag will be good :)
thanks

I would say you'll be good with a new macbook pro, as long as you don't have a TON of processor heavy effects, or like 90 billion tracks. I'm running an old 2008 or so Mac Mini with a core 2 duo in it, and 2 gigs of ram with Logic. I've hardly ever had problems

Unless you need the portability I dont understand why you would build a studio around a laptop.

I'm running my set-up on a 2008 MacBook (white) Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM. Logic Pro 8 works fine for me, system-wise, the only issue being screen real estate. Like the poster above said, if you need portablility then fine but if that isn't an issue then you can get a nice big iMac for the price of a MacBook Pro and it should still handle your DAW without a problem.
