I have recently been looking into buying a Jazz Bass. I went to Guitar Center and found out Squire came out with a Jazz Bass. Of course I picked it up and plugged it in to see what it sounded like. I was pretty impressed by the sound of the bass. I picked up a Fender and plugged it into the EXACT amp, settings, and volume and it sounded Identical!!!!! I came home, did some research, and found out that besides different factories, The materials used were pretty much exactly the same!! If you don't believe me, see for yourself!!!!!

Who are you trying to convince, us or yourself? If you want the Squire because it fit's your needs, go buy it.

Bad stuff about the Squire...

The pots suck. The wiring sucks. The wood is cheaper and you can hear it in the tone and sustain. The paint chips easier on a Squire, because it's a cheaper paint job.

How do I know?

My brother-in-law went through 2 of them. He bought one new and the wiring totally crapped out after 9 months, so they replaced it free of charge at Guitar Satan. The second one he got had scratchy pots and the paint chipped off from the lightest bump. Quality control on a Squire is practically non-existant, or so it seems.
